8 Light Block Signals with Advance Signal on a Post (6+2)

Description

8 light block signals incl. advance signals on a post can be controlled. The block signals can be grouped. The advance signals can be on the post of the (previous) main signal or separate.

The advance signals follow the main block signal and switch off as soon as the own block signal shows Stop (Hp0, Red).

The Main Signals can show signal aspects Hp0 »Stop« and Hp1 »Clear«. The Advance Signals show Vr0 »Expect Stop« or Vr1 »Expect Clear«.

This sequence contains no automatic train control.

They can be activated through push buttons, toggle switches or via DCC controller.

Each group has one advance signal at entry. This is followed by a number of main signals with advance signal on a post and finally one main signal.

Block signals make sure that there is never more than one train within a block section. The block signal shows Green if the block section is clear and Red if a train is within the block section.

An advance signals can be on the post of the (previous) block signal or stand separate if at the beginning of the group. It follows the main signal automatically and shows »Expect Stop« (Yellow) or »Expect Clear« (Green).

An advance signal on a post switches off as soon as the block signal on the same post shows Stop (Red). Advance signals standing separate at the beginning of a group never switch off.

Each switching input of the decoder is connected to one block signal. As long as the contact is open, the signal shows Red. When the contact is closed, the signal shows Green. Contacts can be closed permanently with toggle switches or with push buttons for a short time. Alternatively each block signal can be switched over with 2 DCC commands.

Groups of 2 to 8 track sections in a row can be secured with block and advance signals.

The sections have a length such that each main signal (block signal) at the entry of a block section can carry the advance signal for the following block section on the same post.

This means each group contains a number of main signals with advance signal on the same post. In front of each group there is a single advance signal — for the first main signal. The last block section of each group starts with a simple main signal as no further block section follows.

Im Video sehen Sie einen Ablauf »8 Blocksignale mit Vorsignal am Mast« in unserem Testaufbau. [an error occurred while processing this directive]In this example you see 3 subsequent block sections, being cleared and blocked one after the other. It is nice to see how the advance signal switches off when the main signal on the same post shows »Stop«. (Distance are shortened in this layout just to demonstrate the effect.)
